This was a group of pilots from the Minnesota Seaplane Pilots Association. We caught over 100 walleyes that day and all were very nice size with some 5 and 7 pounders mixed in. We didn't have to get out early or stay out late to catch lots of fish, they bite all day long. What is really nice the lake is a nice mix of bays and islands so the wind does not ruin your day of fishing, makes for lots of places to explore and enjoy the true beauty this area of Canada has to offer. Then what is really nice you can go back to the lodge and if you like enjoy what is truly the best cocktail bar for many miles around. That's gets you ready for the best homemade cooking I have ever experienced at a lodge, and when you cannot eat any more they bring the grandest desserts. Then if you like, after dinner you can go out close by and fish Muskie or Lake Trout. The cabins are spotless clean and comfortable, it just don't get any better. Joanna and her crew have been there together for a long time and sure know how to please their guest in every way.

  Walleyes!

This is a picture of my grandson Luke Fiedler at 4 years old on June 26th, with his dad Paul in the background holding the fish Luke caught and reeled in by himself. He was the proudest little fisherman you will ever see, as this picture shows. As Luke grows older, I am sure this will be his best fishing catch ever. What a great way to spend time with family and make memories for a lifetime. Our family has known Hook N Horn for 7 years now. We have been to many different Lodges over the years. You just cannot get it any better than what they have to offer; so many different species of fish and always a good chance of a nice trophy. The meals are five star. The kitchen is a show piece. The people that work there really enjoy what they are doing and treat you like family.

The 51-inch musky I caught at the Hook N Horn was a very heavy fish. In fact, I could not ever turn his head, so I actually had to reel him in as he was trying to swim away from the boat. My guide did a great job of netting him tail first (against all proper procedures) and scoop in his large head from underneath.

He was caught on a Shumway flasher, green blades and tinsel with black marabou. He was definitely over 40 pounds by my estimation although we did not weigh her. Hook N Horn is the best fishing lodge I have ever experienced. Best lake, best food, best accommodations, best bar, and best staff, bar none.

  Huge musky on Rowan Lake

Just a note of thanks for top notch service and the all around royal treatment received during our stay at Hook N Horn. The fishing was first rate. The food superb. From the warm welcome at the dock upon landing, through the nice send off on departure, you certainly had all the bases covered. There's a 50-pounder out there with my name on it!

I've been to northern Saskatchewan close to twenty times, and the Hook N Horn delivers an equally awesome fly-in fishing adventure at less than half the cost. Plus, because Rowan Lake is protected, my group didn't have to worry about weather keeping us off the lake. I caught my first ever musky – plus walleye, lake trout, northern and bass.

The staff is wonderful and the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. To top it off, I've never seen a cleaner lodge or nicer cabins anywhere. I can't wait to come back next year!

  Huge musky!

We were trolling Redfire Crawdad Rattling Raps that day. We caught so many large northern and walleye that day we had to stop and rest. We'd both be fighting a fish at the same time, which made for a problem handling the net. The Walleyes ran between 5 and 7 pounds and Northern Pike were 5 to 20 pounds. All these fish were released, releasing all these trophy fish is really encouraged by Hook N Horn and the lake really shows it, as there are many big fish of all species on Rowan and its surrounding lakes.

I caught this monster in early June. The big Northern were in shallow bays and biting on Red Meps, we were trolling and casting, is the most fun I have ever had fishing, just non-stop action.

We are from Arizona and have never been fishing before in our lives. This was all new to us! We sure learned a lot in a hurry fighting these monsters. What's nice is there was never a dull moment on Rowan Lake. That's what the fun is all about when you don't have to wait for hours for another bite.

In five days on Rowan Lake we saw 100 muskies and landed 11. The Hook N Horn and Rowan Lake were all that I expected – and more! The lake is spectacular, the lodge comfortable and the people very friendly. Our group had a great experience!
